Twilight Order
✦ Twilight Order ✦ Celestial & Master Codex · unified edition v27Read top to bottom as "long ago → almost now." The final band is the 22-year window that produced the present-day team, all cresting within months of Chapter 1.
Aethernox — the boundary of existence, the permission that lets shape take shape — meets creation, is feared, worshipped, and shot at across the Three Answers, then spends ten thousand years shrinking himself small. A theologian counterfeits his "attention" and forges the Void Legion; rather than descend and end it, Aethernox picks up his bag, out-neighbours the war, and takes a harmless name.
Nearly three hundred explorers, scholars, priests, families and refugees of the Ashcroft Expedition cross a permanent Tear — and the Tear seals behind them. They do not starve, and they do not die: their Anima exhausts itself, and the Veil rewrites them into the first beings to metabolize souls instead of food. The five who remain — the Mother, the Father, the Observer, the Lantern, the Twins — become the Veil's oldest myth, and the reason the Nomad Oath exists.
Vael'Thyr, an Elder-Wilds civilization older than the Elven Archives, is consumed beneath the Veil (the First Veil Collapse) — its child Elara (now 183) takes the road-name Ashveil and walks out. The Lunari, second-light weavers, teach the human Moon-Ward lineages, then Withdraw when their gift, the Pale Choir, is re-bound as a weapon. In the Blood realms, the Crimson Divide splits the Sovereign Clan and Adair walks out the unlocked gate to spend three centuries writing the Grand Regional Archive.
In the Spire-Halls, the Order calibrates storm-children to "zero variance." Kirshino — the first green anomaly — breaks into permanent violet chain-breaking light, is "corrected" out of all record, and becomes a counsel-trained freedom-fighter. Nine years his junior, his brother Arelion is raised under the empty frame, taught the green is "a loan," and calibrated into the most precise lightning-wielder in nine centuries.
Every present-day teammate's origin book crests in this window and delivers them, within months, to Cell 9. Riven is the clock's zero point: he is 19 at The Awakening, having spent the Nine Years (ages 0–9) hidden on Earth and the Long Chase (9–19) raised by grandparents while his parents played a decoy across the realms. The others arrive fresh from their own defining trials — Yahia 17, Scribs 17, Kaisel 17, Amelia 152, Nia 20, Asha 21, Sanaa 22, Vaughn ~20, Arelion 22.
